April 9, 2014 water heater repair Cornelius Plumber, Water Heater Repair Cornelius
It is amazing how many Cornelius water heaters we have repaired and replaced last month. There must have been something in the air.
Water heaters, like many of our household appliances have a life expectancy, it’s nearly impossible to determine or estimate how long a water heater will perform due to the complexity of the water in our area. Believe it or not, the water that enters into your home greatly impacts your appliances, faucets, bath, dish washer and plumbing inside your home.
In a perfect world, an electric water heater should last approximately ten years, some of the higher end models will go a little longer and obviously the lesser expensive water heaters will have a shorter life span. The hardness of the water will impact how well the water heater will perform and how often it will need to be repaired. Typically, an electric model will require a bottom element replacement. It’s very easy to determine if one of the elements in your water heater has failed, your water will be warm instead of the hot like normal. Warm water means only one of the elements are heating the water in your tank.
Gas water heaters are very popular, even though the cost of gas has increased; the popularity of gas appliances and water heaters has not. Gas water heaters are more efficient that their electric counterparts, even with the increased gas prices. I personally recommend gas over electric unless the home owner prefers a tankless water heater.
Regardless of the type, brand or model of water heater you have in your Cornelius home, we can repair or replace it for you usually with 24 hours. Stop taking warm showers, call me and have hot water again tomorrow!
